The Author's objective in writing this book is to present a series of STANDARDS which may well (1) serve as YARDSTICKS in connection with paperwork required in the performance of railroad accounting and preparation of statistics; (2) stimulate research and fact finding as aids to management; and (3) to present other suggestions relating to various phases of railroad operations specifically referred to herein.
