In 1960 the author wrote “The Dry and Lawless Years,” documenting his 12‐year fight against Chicago crime.  While not an autobiography, the book contains quite a few personal recollections of the late author, John H. Lyle, a former politician and jurist from Chicago, who had served in the Illinois General Assembly, the Chicago City Council and the Chicago Municipal Court.
